# Temporary links

> Temporary links have a predefined lifespan or usage limit, making them ideal for time-sensitive promotions or limiting access to a specific number of clicks. PlutoLinks offers you two methods for setting expiration: setting an expiration date or adding a click limit.

Here's how to create temporary links with PlutoLinks:

    Log in to your PlutoLinks account and navigate to the link creation screen by clicking on the "Links" tab and then selecting the "Create link" button.

  <Step title="Choose expiration method:">
    Scroll down to the expiration method selection:

        **Expiration date:** If you prefer to set a specific expiration date for your link, look for the option labeled "Expiration date”. Enter the date and time when you want the link to expire.

        **Click Limit:** Alternatively, if you want to limit the number of clicks the link can receive, find the option labeled "Click limit". Enter the maximum number of clicks allowed for the link.

  <Step title="Enter Destination URL:">
    Provide the destination URL for your temporary link. This is the webpage or content that your visitors will be directed to when they click on the link. Click “Save” and your expiration date will be set up!
